Coaching and counselling for individuals

How coaching and counselling can work for you

How does personal coaching work?

Coaching is a form of learning, in which an individual is supported to make progress in whichever way they wish. For example, you might wish to make progress to reach a goal, solve a particular problem or create some change in your life. In coaching, you have a conversation, or series of conversations with your coach. As your coach, I make sure that this conversation benefits you in terms of achieving your objective.

How can personal coaching benefit me?

My role as your coach is to use effective questioning, listening, observation and feedback, so that our conversations are rich in insight and learning. As the person being coached, you experience a focus and attention on your own circumstances that helps you develop greater awareness and understanding. You also gain a fresh perspective on how you can resolve your issues, produce better results and achieve your goals more effectively. Some typical benefits you can experience from personal coaching include:

• An improved sense of direction and focus

• Improved performance in areas such as work, health or finances.

• Increased knowledge of self or self-awareness

• Improved personal effectiveness

• Increased motivation or sense of personal engagement

• Increased resourcefulness or resilience, e.g. ability to handle change.
